Portables Training
O.S.H.A. Requirement 1910.157 (G)
1. Where the employer has provided portable fire exall also provide an educational program to familiarize etinguishers for employee use in the workplace, the employer shmployees with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage firefighting.
2. The employer shall provide the education required in paragraph 1 of this section upon initial employment and at least annually thereafter.
Portable Fire Extinguisher Training
Underwriters Laboatories test have shown that people trained to use portable fire extinguishers are more than twice as effective as untrained personnel in successful fire extinguishment.
The Fredriksen Fire Equipment Co. training program increases your employees' fire control efficiency with a comprehensive seminar that we custom design to your specific needs.
The training is provided by an Illinois State Fire Marshall certified Instructor and consists of the following:
- Introduction involving the realities of fire behavior
- Video Presentation
- Question and Answer session
- Live Fire Training. This training allows each participant an opportunity to, using their own portable fire extinguisher, extinguish a fire approximately 6-8 square feet in size. This is accomplished utilizing a propane-fed fire simulator that eliminates pollution concerns, yet provides an invaluable experience for the individual.
- Review
The class size is limited to a maximum of 35 people and can be completed in less than a hour. Consecutive training sessions, along with off-hour training, can be accomodated.
